Community & Sponsorship

Alpine Energy has an active sponsorship programme, focussing on developing facilities and events that enhance the sporting, cultral and recreational life of the region as well as providing personal development scholarships for individuals.

Alpine Energy provides Personal Development Scholarships for sporting, cultural and community endeavour. This form of sponsorship involves a grant to help a person who is striving to attain excellence within a mix of cultural, sporting and community activities. These scholarships are only available to residents within the Alpine Energy electricity distribution area and typically range from $200 to $1,000 per individual. Sponsorship may be used for course attendance (not including tertiary studies), personal coaching, travel or similar support to enable the individual to further develop their potential in February and August each year.

Advertisments are place in both the Timaru Herald and two local community papers, as well as run on local radio stations, inviting applications for Personal Development Scholarships.
