Top finance executive joins the team

A top finance executive with extensive experience in business diversification and growth has joined Alpine Energy, Caroline Ovenstone has been appointed the chief financial officer, reporting directly to the chief executive Andrew Tombs.

Caroline brings to Alpine more than 20 years of comprehensive expertise in managing and strengthening businesses through systems development and diversification, fuelled by strong organic and acquisition growth.

After receiving her chartered accountant qualification in South Africa she spent 10 years in practice between BDO and PwC before branching out into commerce.

Prior to Alpine, Caroline was the managing director of Business operations for PFK Electronics in South Africa for seven years. PFK Electronics is a globally recognised manufacturer and designer of advanced automotive technology. During her tenure, Caroline was part of the executive team, who together with the CEO and Board, was instrumental in developing an overall growth strategy.  This growth led to distribution responsibilities in four continents, with oversight of several executive reports such as finance, business systems, manufacturing and operations, design and human resources departments.

Caroline also spent time working with the New Zealand dairy industry for a local Timaru company, assisting with its continuous improvement and production excellence initiatives. Key achievements included a stabilisation plan for the business, advanced financial reporting and stakeholder management as well as providing leadership and support to the farming operations

Married to Haydn, they have two children, Payge and Mitchyl.  Outside of work, she loves to travel which encompasses her love for photography. She also enjoys karate, keeping fit and a good book.
