Major network upgrade for Temuka
Over the next two to three years, we’re investing $7.5 million upgrading approximately 100km of overhead and underground power lines, poles, and essential equipment in Temuka – modernising the network to meet growing demand and delivering more reliable power for years to come.
We’re replacing ageing infrastructure with modern, safer technology, building a future-ready network for Temuka.
That means fewer outages, shorter interruptions, and a stronger, more resilient power supply for the community.

What to expect
To keep everyone safe, we’ll need to switch off power to some properties and use traffic management in certain locations.
Planned outages
Should customers be affected by a planned power outage, they will receive direct notification from their retailer (who they pay their power bill to) and Alpine Energy. We encourage our customers to check their email address is updated with their retailer.
Some customers may experience multiple outages even though we have tried our best to minimise the impact of these. If you receive multiple notifications, it means you will experience multiple outages.
Traffic and pedestrian management
We will need to implement traffic and pedestrian management, and in some instances, close roads. Our Project Managers have worked with large businesses in the area who may use these routes for transportation and deliveries in an effort to minimise the disruption. Schools affected have also been contacted.
