Warmer Kiwi Homes FAQs
Why is Alpine doing this?
This is part of Alpine’s commitment to invest $1.5m in South Canterbury around efficiency and resilience. This is in addition to the power bill credits to address a historical pricing error.
Who can get it?
This is available to eligible South Canterbury homeowners through EECA’s Warmer Kiwi Homes programme. Eligibility is set by EECA.
What does “free” mean?
For eligible households, insulation and heating upgrades are fully covered, meaning no upfront cost.
How do I apply?
Applications are managed through EECA. Check eligibility and apply here: www.warmerkiwihomes.govt.nz
Is funding available for everyone?
Funding is limited and available to eligible households while funding lasts.
Can I get this for work already completed?
This funding does not apply retrospectively to completed work. If work has been quoted but not installed, then WKH service providers can requote with the Alpine Energy funding included.
Who is delivering the work?
EECA manages the programme, working with approved providers and installers.
