Green transformers05 Sep 2017 Community-owned network company Alpine Energy is trialling 10 environmentally friendly transformers at Fonterra’s Clandeboye plant, near Temuka. The new transformers use vegetable oil as an insulating medium rather than traditional mineral oil and are the first of their kind to be used in the South Canterbury district. |

Fast charging stations26 Jul 2017 Recently we installed a public electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging station in Tekapo and Twizel, bringing our total number of fast-charging stations to seven across the district. In 2016 we opened South Canterbury’s first public electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging stations in Timaru and Waimate. We have since added to that with fast-chargers now in Fairlie, Geraldine and Temuka. |
